Environmental Policy
Tomorrow's IT are accutely aware of the environmental impact caused by businesses. We're making every effort to mimimise our impact, and help our customers to do the same.
Electrical and commercial waste are two of the biggest issues facing businesses today. Most outdated computer and office hardware is sent to India where it is stripped of any valuable metals and then dumped in giant refuse piles. These piles are now beginning to become unmanageable as most of this waste will not decompose.
We never simply discard old computers and monitors that are in working condition, after the secure removal of all the data we recycle as much as we can by sending them to Romania to be re-used. This is a service we offer to all our customers, so they know when we introduce new systems, the old ones will be dealt with responsibly.
We also follow a number of working practices, including...
- Recycling card, paper and plastic
- Using both sides of a sheet of paper for printing whenever possible, and re-using scrap sheets
- Power management practices, ensuring we're not wasting electricity on unused appliances
- Using E-Mail or screen-based advertising or correspondance whenever possible to minimise paper and ink usage
- Ensuring all office systems such as radiators and water heaters are operating efficiently
- Moving to online invoicing by the end of the year
